沖縄の戦前期の新聞資料をもとに、主として明治30～40年代の泡盛や泡盛産業にまつわる記事を紹介、考察したもの。近代の泡盛の産業化と民間へのひろまり、日本の酒類に関する税制問題との絡みなどを新聞資料を基に分析している。
