はじめに、材木流通の担い手(筏師と筏師仲間、筏宿)、材木取引の〝秩序〟と実態―文化～天保期(問屋仲間による出買・出売の禁止、筏師仲間の対応、筏宿を媒介する取引)、株仲間解散以降の取引の変容(株仲間解散期の動揺、株仲間再興後の材木取引と筏宿の機能(引き合せ、金銭の貸付、公正な価格形成、前貸金の仲介))、おわりに。
