はじめに、中国におけるハンセン病、琉球におけるハンセン病、ベッテルハイムが見たハンセン病患者、ベッテルハイムが見た性病患者、おわりに。 36号・37号に続く医療史より見たベッテルハイム史料の紹介。今回はハンセン病・性病に関する記事を紹介するとともに、19世紀中頃の琉球でハンセン病患者が置かれていた状況について考察している。
